The Big Show!

May 02, 2012 / 0 Comments

Hey everyone, it's Becky from NBS again.

We came, we saw, we danced! IDD ’12 has come and gone, and wow… what an incredible experience! On Sunday afternoon, the Distillery District was filled with people of all ages dressed in brightly coloured clothing ready to rock it out. Lucky for us, the weather cooperated- it was a beautiful sunny day! I met with my colleagues a little before noon, and we waited excitedly for our cue. As the clock struck twelve, music filled the air, and it was on! I cannot believe how quickly it went…after weeks and weeks of rehearsals, it felt like it was over in a second.

The amazing spirit and enthusiasm of all the dancers was contagious, and the crowd loved it! I felt very proud to be a part of the experience. I was so impressed with what an incredible job all of the kids did…they were definitely the stars of the show! I am so happy to see that so many of them joined the Mob and hope that they are hooked and continue to do it every year. Dance is a wonderful form of expression and hopefully our mob succeeded in inspiring some new people to give it a try. Special thanks from NBS staff to Katharine Harris, whose constant support and encouragement kept us in it, and Amy Ballantyne, who generously dedicated her time to teaching us the routine and making us look our best! My weeks will feel very empty without our rehearsals, but I will definitely carry this experience with me! See y’all next year for IDD’13!
